BBC WWI
A very comprehensive site which features lots of multimedia along with information about both the homefront and the battles of WWI.
World War I by the BBC
An excellent special report. This also includes newsreels and radio broadcasts.
World War I
While not scholarly, it is a rich in information, includes reference type articles and primary source materials.
The First World War
Another great starting point, lots of information. But, not a scholarly resource. There is a disclaimer about this site.
Chemical Weapons of World War I
Learn about how chemical weaponry started during WWI.

Primary Sources World War I

BBC World War I:Primary
Pictures and letters home can be found here, along with actual interviews of soldiers.
First World War
Again, while not scholarly, there is excellent coverage of WWI, and there are oodles of primary sources from first-hand accounts to pictures.
War Poster Collection
Use these posters to help with your propaganda component.
Imperial War Museums
Online collections from Britain's War museum, lots of WWI material, and special 100 year memorial collection/exhibition, too.

European FIlms on the FIrst World War
An excellent digitized collection of films from WWI, with awesome annotations.
World War I Document Archive
From the IPL:"Primary documents of WWI, most in English, assembled by volunteers of the World War I Military History List (WWI-L). Includes conventions, treaties, official papers, documents by year, personal reminiscences, and a biographical dictionary." Another non-academic, but helpful resource.

Use the recommended links to get you started. If you are still in need of addtional sources, use google to help you get to them. Please be careful not to use other student projects as resources. Look for accurate, authoritative sites. Don't forget to check each sites' sponsorship and authorship for reliability.

Newspapers from the Tens

Library of Congress Historic Newspapers
While the coverage is American, you can use these historic examples to help you model your newspaper.
World War I
While this is another American source, you can find primary sources that you could use to incorporate into your paper, really great pictures, for example. Includes a timeline and excellent essays.
