Awesome biographies and news articles! Most of the defenders and reformers have their own page within this resource.
Global Issues in Context*
A wonderful resource with biographical information and reform issue information. You can find photos, videos, and articles from many sources, including magazines, newspapers, and books.
Opposing Viewpoints in Context
OV contains biographies, interviews, and news stories about many of your reformers, and articles addressing their reform issues, including many viewpoint articles which address specific arguments, pro and con. ID&PW needed from home.

Amnesty International
Covers the issues, provides current overviews on many of your reform topics. You can also search on your reformer's country. Not a good biographical resource.
Human Rights Watch
Monitors Human Rights abuses worldwide. Searchable by issue and country. Not a good biographical resource.
State Department Human Rights Reports
While this site has a definite US bias, you can learn about some of the major human rights concerns by country.

You should review any source you find with Google.

Remember....

Think about finding information about

Your reformer/defender
The country/region of your reformer (if the problem is country/region specific)
The issue needing reform (domestic violence, child labor, poverty)

You should research both the issue + country/region after you learn about your reformer/defender.
